named after british statesman sir thomas stamford raffles, raffles hotel is one of the few  luxury hotels remaining in the world with its origins in the 19th century. it is loved by royalty, cultural celebrities and international stars; such names as queen elizabeth ii, prince william, princess kate, somerset maugham, charlie chaplin, elizabeth taylor and michael jackson have all enjoyed stays at the hotel. raffles hotel shenzhen held its soft opening in may 2019.
